Research:
Jürgen Pfeffer's research focus lies in the computational analysis of organizations and societies with a special emphasis on large-scale systems. His research combines traditional network analysis and dynamic network analysis theories and methods with up-to-date science from the areas of visual analytics, geographic information systems, system dynamics, and data mining. Central research interests are in:
  1. Optimizing existing measures and developing new measures to analyze large networks within reasonable time.
  2. Developing algorithms to identify and evaluate structural change in evolving networks.
  3. Developing visual analytics methods for network data that facilitate analytical reasoning by utilizing the human power to capture complex interrelations.
  4. Modeling the structure and dynamics of real world interpersonal networks to simulate the Diffusion of information, innovation, opinions, and beliefs.
