Email: terrillfrantz[AT]cmu.edu
Research Keywords: dynamic network analysis, organizational dynamics, mergers, ORA
Affiliation: CASOS
Research:

  • Core Research:
    • Organizational Mergers. Develop computational models and computer simulations designed to evaluate management integration strategies of workforce and socio-technical systems by focusing on organization performance, when combining separate organizations in a merger, acquisition, joint venture or alliance. This research pertains to common combinations such as business mergers as well as to broader, less formal alliances, such as a rebuilding a country, as in the recent case of Iraq.
    • Organization Change. Develop computational models of organization behavior and dynamics to aid in the evaluation of intervention and management strategies designed to improve organization performance.
    • Organization Networks. Utilize social network analysis techniques to assess the internal social and knowledge networks in an organization to evaluate organizational health and uncover opportunities for organizational change and improved performance.

  • Supplemental Research:
    • Statistical Methods for Social Network Analysis. Develop statistical techniques for making data inference in social networks under condition of missing data. Enron Email Corpus. Conduct analysis of the real-world Enron Email corpus to develop generalized organization theory.
    • Network Visualization. Develop techniques and software for visualizing large social networks datasets. Web Services Software. Develop web-based software services for social network analysis.
